Thank you Eli for your testimony…on this night when I couldn’t sleep and was looking for inspiration it helped me to read about your experience. I liked what you said about how our different “parts” can align with others even if we don’t agree on everything but are moved by our shared belief in the whole human being. And how, as simple as this sounds, integrating our humanity in all that we do (including our private-public, personal-professional, analog-digital lives) seems so difficult. This disconnect, to me, is at the heart of the bigger disconnect we are living today, especially between our governments (the people we elect to represent us) and how we decide to engage in public life.
You already hinted at some of the most important ingredients to bring hope: putting our 10-year olds (the children but also ourselves as the creative children we once were) at the center, inviting people and groups from the “spiritual” communities with deep experience on helping people re-connect with their humanity, and connecting the dots across disciplines and areas of expertise that don’t usually talk to each other.
