Musk demonstrated that he knows nothing about the knowledge/information/media industry. If anybody is interested, an excellent survey of the subject can be found in Jonathan Rauch’s book, The Constitution of Knowledge.

I'm trying to build a healthy digital public space in https://thehustings.news, open to civil comments from the left and right, eschewing echo chambers and editing out any trolling. But there doesn't seem to be any easy way to connect with you unless I apply for a job. Consider this my cover letter.

To be a bit fictitious, we deserve billionaire-owned social media platforms. U.S society and media idealise billionaires. The media and pop culture ecosystem is part of this (shows like "Billions", "Sucessions" for example). And this is not the first time (remember, Citizen Kane was made in 1941!). I admire what you and scholars like Zuckerman are doing but I am very sceptical about our ability to build healthy digital public spaces. Don't get me wrong, I am all for it. But Market fundamentalism is so engrained in U.S media ethos, that this is a hard battle to fight. And yes it is not just about Musk. If it is not Musk there will be another space cowboy. I hope I am wrong.
